Hello everybody, me again.
Now I want to see a show of hands, how many of you celebrated your 4th of July with fireworks of some kind? (If you really just raised your hand, you need mental help.) I’m guessing quite a few of you did, I on the other hand, did not. Having a big fear of fireworks make 4th of July, New Years Eve, and pretty much the ending of any big sports game, a living hell for me. So while the rest of you sat outside and enjoyed your loud bangs of fire, I was at the movie theater watching one of my other fears come to life on the big screen.
The Amazing Spider-Man looked promising when I saw the previews, but I was skeptical. Hollywood has already produced 3 different movies about a spider superhero that I generally loved. I thought it was to soon for them to use that theme for another movie. Boy was I partially wrong.
I will give no spoilers of the movie, but let me just say, it was great. The story was good and balanced with plenty of action, humor, love, and a feeling of sadness. I was very impressed and came out of the movie wanting to see it again. Yes it was a little confusing and frustrating that they were starting all over again with a new movie, using an already known story, with different actors, and new details. But let me go out on a limb here and say, I liked this new Spider-Man better than the last three. It will be interesting to see if they make a sequel later on and if this will turn into another trilogy.
I give it two thumbs up and it was totally worth the $10 spent.
Until next time, Abby.
